Visiting Earthaven
Please do not arrive at Earthaven without having made confirmed arrangements in advance. Call 828-669-3937 to make a reservation for a tour. Office hours are 10 to 6 weekdays (except Tuesday) and 11 to 2 on weekends. Other times, please leave a message. See How to Get Here, Maps of Earthaven, and Earthaven Weather. ToursWe offer public tours every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Please arrive a little early to register. The fee for the tour is $15 per adult and we welcome additional donations to help support our outreach efforts. The tour lasts about two hours and is mainly outdoors, so be sure to dress for the weather. Bring your own food if you think you'll get hungry. On Saturday afternoons, there are sometimes community work projects or in-depth tours of members' homesites available (the morning tour guide announces afternoon work projects or tours). Besides regularly scheduled Saturday morning tours, our tour guides are available for two- and three-hour guided tours of Earthaven, including specialized tours focusing on natural building, permaculture design, sustainability, or other topics of interest. Private tour fees are $40 for one person, $50 for two people, and $20/person for three and up. Special rates may be apply for large groups. We do not accept credit cards. CampingThe 2009 camping season will be Friday, April 3 through Sunday, November 1, 2009. In season, the campground is open to the public by reservation only. The cost is $15 a night for each adult, except that for two adults on one site the cost is $20 a night. Supporting members may make arrangements to camp during the week as well as on weekends. Water is available at the campground, but please bring your own food. Earthaven does not have facilities to serve food to the public. LodgingVisitor lodging is available near the Earthaven gate and there are other options for accommodations in the area.
