Support Earthaven’s Campaign for Climate Resilience
Six months ago, Hurricane Helene swept through Earthaven Ecovillage. Roads washed out. Creeks overflowed. Trees and mudslides blocked our way.
But our off-grid power delivered. Our spring and well water flowed. Our farms provided. Our extended community of support donated.
And our people showed up.
In a short time, our roads were passable and we were welcoming visitors. Now we’re looking to the future – focused on climate resilience and sharing what we learned.
The storm revealed vulnerabilities – even in a climate-aware community.
Earthaven Ecovillage is launching Rooted in Resilience—a campaign for climate resilience, ecological restoration, and an educational seed bank. We’re restoring our land, strengthening our human and physical systems, and sharing what we learn so others can improve the resilience of their own communities.
This campaign will raise $44,000 in 44 days to support:
- Creek, riparian zone, and road restoration that improves our resilience, restores ecological functions, and promises greater resilience in future climate events
- Video, interviews, and other documentation to share our process, experiments, and learning
- Climate resilience education, including online workshops and discussions
How to Participate:
- Donate
- Become a Friend of Earthaven
- Share the story
Please also donate to projects doing this work in your community. The Earthaven experiment only matters if it helps others become more rooted in their own places, cultures, and purpose.
